The name-and-record question
How do I check who is involved?
Get the assessing professional’s complete name and role, along with the pharmacy’s full name. Keep both in a note so you can match the names to the board records.
North Carolina licence checks: as of September 28, 2026.
Match the person’s role to the board record
Which record covers the person treating me?
The North Carolina Medical Board licenses doctors and physician assistants, often called PAs.
A physician assistant is a licensed health professional who can provide medical care.
The board’s free search shows whether the licence is current, the person’s training, and any published board decisions about their conduct or licence.
Use the full name to find the matching record. Check whether the licence is current and read any board decision linked there.
The record can tell you about published discipline, such as a licence suspension. It cannot rate how good that person’s care is.

A question to bring
What name and role will appear in the board’s record?
How do I check the pharmacy?
The North Carolina Board of Pharmacy holds the pharmacy and pharmacist licence records.
An out-of-state pharmacy must have a North Carolina permit before sending prescription medicine into the state.
Find out which pharmacy makes your medicine and which pharmacy sends it. Match the names in the answer, the board record, and any product label.
Compounded medicines are prepared to order. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the US medicine regulator, says that when people get these medicines online, they may not know who made the product.

FDA registration means a maker has entered its facility in the FDA’s records. The facility and its medicines do not gain FDA approval through that entry.
Accreditation means a private organisation checks how a pharmacy prepares medicines against written quality rules. It does not replace the state licence or test each batch of medicine.
